THE FAMOUS BLOG VERO4TRAVEL RECOMMENDS VISITING THE CABANYAL
The famous travel blog Vero4travel recommends visiting our loved neighborhood of Cabanyal – Canyamelar and, what´s more, she also refers to our Barracart apartments as preferred accommodation!
We love these recommendations from professional voices. The residents of Cabanyal – Canyamelar proclaim the tourist virtues of the neighbourhood, however, these words are issued by established travellers who travel the world, as is the case with Vero4travel.
The Vero4travel blog is considered one of the Bibles of Spanish-speaking travellers. It is no surprise that it is one of the most read blogs in Spain. The blog is run by brother and sister Vero and Jesús. They travel to the north, south, east and west of the planet to inform us of their unoque advice on what to do, see, visit and eat in the destinations they visit.
Vero4travel dedicates this affectionate testimonial that we share with you:
“We had already read in The Guardian that Cabanyal – Canyamelar was one of the coolest neighbourhoods in all of Europe and now after our visit we can corroborate it. We knew that a few years ago it had been a neighbourhood neglected by the administrations; a peripheral area only valued by its residents. But what we have found today is a cultural, gastronomic and leisure beacon.
We have loved walking through its colourful streets that in a certain way have reminded us of London’s Notting Hill. Hundreds of multi-colored houses that preserve the charm of popular modernism of the early 20th century.
In addition, the location of the neighbourhood is another attraction. El Cabanyal – Canyamelar is next to the promenade and the beaches of Valencia which are spectacular. As the Mediterranean climate is so mild, you can enjoy a paella with sea views practically all year round.
After our experience in Cabanyal – Canyamelar, we could not conceive of a view of Valencia without including this neighbourhood and of course the beaches of Las Arenas (now renamed Playa del Cabanyal), La Malvarrosa and La Patacona. And of course the sizzling area of the Marina.
Of all the accommodations in the neighbourhood, we chose the Barracart Apartments. I find the rehabilitation that they have made of this modernist house now converted into tourist accommodation fascinating. The Barracart apartments have tradition, they have taste, they have that “je ne sais quoi” that makes you feel that you are enjoying a unique experience in your destination.”
